Who we are
HaShomer is a company founded and based in Israel. We decide how the personal data described here is used, and we are the people to ask about it: write to info@hashomer.cc.
The short version
- This site sets no advertising cookies unless you accept them, and loads nothing from Google until you do.
- If you write to us, through the form or by email, we use what you send to answer you and for nothing else. We do not sell it or share it for anyone else's marketing.
- The camera demo on the AI page runs inside your browser. Your video never leaves your device.
- The news cards on the home page show each article's own picture, loaded straight from that publisher's website, so your browser asks that site for it. We tell it nothing, not even which of our pages you were on.
What we collect, and why
When you contact us
The contact form asks for your name, email address and message, and which of our lines of work it is about; your organisation, role, sector and country are optional. Email you send us directly contains whatever you choose to put in it. We use it to reply, and, if a conversation leads there, to prepare a proposal or agreement with you. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before a possible contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)) and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries about our work (Article 6(1)(f)).
Form messages are delivered to our mailbox by Cloudflare. A copy of each message is also kept on Cloudflare for 90 days, so that nothing is lost if an email fails, and is then deleted automatically. We keep correspondence for as long as the conversation is active, and for no more than 24 months after the last contact, unless a contract requires longer.
When you visit the site
Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes your IP address and basic request details to deliver pages and to protect the site from attacks. This is necessary to run the site (legitimate interest, Article 6(1)(f)). Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary security cookie to tell people apart from automated traffic.
Advertising cookies, only if you accept
We advertise with Google Ads. If you accept cookies, the Google Ads tag loads and sets cookies that measure whether an ad led to an enquiry, and lets Google show our ads again to people who have visited the site. The legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). If you reject them, or make no choice, the tag is never loaded. You can change your mind at any time with ; withdrawing consent removes the cookies the tag set on this site.
The camera demo
“See for myself” on the AI page uses your camera only after you start it and your browser asks your permission. The analysis runs entirely in your browser: no image, video or measurement is sent to us or to anyone else. To run it, your browser downloads the pose model from Google’s servers and the software library from jsDelivr, which means those services see your IP address when you press start, and not before.

Who else handles your data
- Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the site, delivers form messages and keeps the 90-day copy.
- Google provides our email (Google Workspace), and, only with your consent, Google Ads.
Each acts under its own data processing terms. We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it for automated decisions about you.
International transfers
We are based in Israel, which the European Commission recognises as giving personal data an adequate level of protection, so data can come to us from the European Union without extra safeguards. Cloudflare and Google may process data in the United States; both participate in the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Write to info@hashomer.cc; we answer within one month.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority: in Cyprus, the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection (dataprotection.gov.cy); in Romania, the Autoritatea Națională de Supraveghere a Prelucrării Datelor cu Caracter Personal (dataprotection.ro); in Israel, the Privacy Protection Authority; or the authority where you live or work.
Security
The site is served only over HTTPS, form messages travel encrypted, and access to our mailbox is limited to the people who answer it.
Children
This site is for professional audiences. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data about them.
Changes
If we change how we use personal data, we update this page and the date at the top. A change that needs your consent will ask for it again.
